Purchasing activities include quotation and lead-time management, supplier selection aligned to the required technology, and control of part revisions and manufacturer part numbers to maintain configuration integrity. Where alternatives are required (for example due to lead-time or lifecycle constraints), substitutions are managed through an agreed approval route to ensure technical equivalence and continued compliance. This model provides a single point of responsibility for material availability and supports coordinated planning from procurement through to build and dispatch.
